We start out with two amazing waterfalls. First, the famous Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, which we will do an exciting hike behind to hear and feel the roaring power of Mother Nature. Adventurous folks will be thrilled by the next waterfall inside the cliffs, which hides a magical, fairytale-like world. This is where we often encounter hidden people and other beings.
We continue past the famous volcano and glacier Eyjafjallajokull, which became famous for closing down air traffic in 2010.
We visit the newly opened Lava Center where we will learn everything about volcanoes and their immense powers and how they have and are still shaping Iceland.
Our next stop the stunning Skogafoss Waterfall – famous for its magic rainbows! So bring your camera!
Then it is time to go to the beach. Iceland’s most famous black volcanic beach: Reynisfjara Beach with its basalt formations and columns that have inspired many landmarks like Hallgrims Church, Harpa music hall and our National Theatre. “A Must do in Iceland!”
5 of 5 stars
A lot of what makes Goecco so incredible has already been said, and it is all true. It didn’t feel like a tour, it felt like heading out on an adventure with new friends. I never thought I’d be singing the Banana Boat Song overlooking a glacial lagoon at dawn, but I did–the tour had that feel of spontaneous fun the entire way.
We did the two days Glacial Lagoon/South Shore tour, and it was hands-down the best part of a week in Iceland (including finding a Reykjavik bar pouring free drinks for two hours).
Our guide, Teitur, was incredibly knowledgeable but was as enthusiastic as though he were seeing everything for the first time. We pulled off the road to find secret caves, hike through the lava fields, run to a sea cave, and much, much more. My only regret is that I didn’t contact Goecco and say “I have six days in Iceland–just take me where you think I should go.”
“Glorious South Shore Tour”
5 of 5 stars
This was a blast, a full day tour that hits all of the main south shore sites. We didn’t have alot of time in the country so this tour fit the bill perfectly. We stopped at so many beautiful and unique places it was hard to take it all in. Teitur was our guide and his obvious affection for all things Icelandic was contagious. There are so many natural wonders in this country it simply takes your breath away. You have real sense of what it must have looked like when the earth was new (with all the volcanic activity it looks like it will continue to surprise and amaze, this is a country that is still in the process of being born). We absolutely loved this tour. The “hidden pool” is not for the faint of heart but if you want a true Icelandic experience jump on in, the water is fine.

To those of you reading this review. If you haven’t yet, flip for the private/semi-private tours. The personal attention and relaxing conditions are SSSSSOOOOO very much better than the monstrous public tours…. miss the huge crowds at the sites, the over crowded busses, and the lack of one on one…. Absolutely Awesome time.
