The chilliest thing about Iceland is its name!

Cold winters, bright summers, colourful autumns and crisp springs. Despite its northerly location, Iceland is really more solar than polar, thanks to the warming effects of the Gulf Stream. On most days you can experience all four seasons when mild Atlantic air and cold Arctic air go head to head and result in frequent and sudden weather shifts. That’s why you will hear Icelanders say, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait 15 minutes and you’ll get something different.”

Every season has its charm and character. We recommend Summer or Winter for first-time visitors. But come Spring and Autumn and get everything almost to yourself!
