Summer Solstice Tour Reykjavik Iceland on the 21st of June 2010

We invite you to join us on this unique evening of Summer Solstice, Haunted Walk through Reykjavik, ending by the Grotta lighthouse enjoying the bright and magical summer night.

Discover the rich history and stunning natural beauty of Reykjavik’s most interesting area while taking advantage of the year’s longest daylight hours during the Summer Solstice, commonly referred to as “Simmer Dim” by the local people, with its light mid-summer night skies and kisses.

Where.

Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik lies at 64°9' North of the equator, just a few degrees south of the Arctic Circle (66°30'N) that experiences 24 hours of daylight on the summer solstice.

When.

At 20.00 on June 21st at Austurstræti 6 the tourist information office.

Program.

There will be no minimum number of guest and pre booking will be needed.

The program will be as follow.

Regular Haunted Walk, with solo singers in the graveyard singing traditional Icelandic Burial Songs, Tenor, Alt, Bass.

Groups collected from the graveyard with a bus and driven to The Grotta Lighthouse.

Bonfire, and storytelling / Guitar Playing.

Sunset, if we are lucky and there is a clear sky, the sun will set behind, Snæfellsnes Glacier, so the Glacier becomes like a blue diamond in the pink sunset. Pagan traditions saying goodbye to the old year.

Drinking, beach singing, dancing Viking Style, drums.

When the sun will start rising and a new Viking year begins, this will be celebrated in traditional Viking Pagan Manner. Many guests will swim in the cold sea to celebrate the new Viking Year others will roll in the dew, animals will speak, hidden people will moove.

The package will include the following.

100 min Haunted Walk. Black Death Snaps and Viking Beer, Icelandic singer with a guitar on the beach, Choir singers at the graveyard.

Transfer to the lighthouse, Viking beer at the beach.

Individual transfers can be arranged.

Net. Price ISK 70 EURO (commission to agents available)

Sandwiches, vine, beer etc. can be arranged.
