The 12-14 hour tour includes: A visit to the Eyjafjallajokull Volcano area and the Glacial Lagoon. Outdoor bathing in a secret natural pool. Black Beaches, optional sailing on the lagoon, short hike and more. Light lunch is included.
Where else can you set foot on a glacier, explore waterfalls and drive along deserted black volcanic beaches and all that in only 1 day, bath in a natural geothermal pool by the roots of Eyjafjallajökull all in one day?
About the destination.Jökulsįrlón is the best known and largest of a number of glacial lakes in Iceland. It is situated at the south end of the glacier Vatnajökull between Skaftafell National Park and Höfn. Appearing first only in 1934-1935, the lake grew from 7.9 km² in 1975 to at least 18 km² today because of heavy melting of the Icelandic glaciers. At a depth of 200 m, Jökulsarlon is now the deepest lake in Iceland.
On the way to the Glacial Lagoon we will visit our secret spots, bath outdoors amongst the ash of Eyjafjallajökull, hike behind a 70 m waterfall, explore basalt columns, magical black beaches and much more.
Outdoor geothermal bathing is in a wild pool located by the glacier. Here we try to serve some snacks and schnapps. All of this depends on how kind nature is to us.
