“Let’s Talk Christmas”
Experience the spirit of Christmas, troll style. Hear tales of the 13 unruly and eccentric Yule Lads told by their mother, Grýla.
A new Icelandic show entitled “Let’s Talk Christmas” will premiere on November 15. The show spotlights Icelandic Christmas traditions and is especially geared towards tourists.
The star of the show is Icelandic ogress Grýla, the mother of the 13 Yule Lads who used to have naughty children for dinner. Grýla tells spectators about herself and her family, mixed with stories of holiday celebrations and traditions in Iceland, both modern and old-fashioned.
The event will take place at Tabasco’s – Mexican Bar and Grill on Hafnarstræti 1-3 in central Reykjavík, where Grýla welcomes guest to enter the cave like dungeon, every day between November 15 and December 31 at 14:00.
Admission is 1.800 ISK and 900 ISK for children aged 12 and younger. Seasonal refreshments are included.
Tickets can be bought at all tourist offices and travel agencies.
