The Story behind Goecco Outdoor Adventures

Goecco Outdoor Adventures is a soft adventure, outdoor experience provider for individual travellers and corporate groups.
With a variety of innovative activities and programs such as Reykjavik City Walks, White Water Rafting, Whale Viewing, Sea Angling, Facilitated Corporate Teambuilding and Special Events, Goecco Outdoor Adventures is firmly committed to creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The company started as a dream for Jonas Freydal Thorsteinsson an vid outdoorsmen and environmentalists who had the vision to foresee a growing trend in what was just newly termed "adventure travel."
In 1992 when the company first opened its doors for business in Copenhagen, Goecco Outdoor Adventures (ITS Copenhagen) was focused on multi-day adventure excursions for the individual traveller. As time progressed, the team noticed that what appeared to be most popular were day-long activities where anyone and everyone could get a taste of and enjoy the thrill of an adventure.
With busy schedules and a yearning to escape to the outdoors to learn something new, people were immediately drawn to what Goecco Outdoor Adventures had to offer. Before long, corporate groups searching for unique activities and experiences for their employees also came knocking.
Today, nearly fifteen years later, the Copenhagen office has been sold and the Icelandic department has flourished and grown significantly with the coming acquisition of other adventure tour operators, working closely with other local activity providers, and by always offering new and creative programming such as SIMDIM Summer Solstice: Goecco Outdoor Adventures Iceland, Survivor: The TripTrapp way, and TripTrapps Amazing Race for corporate groups.
The key to Goecco Outdoor Adventures success has always been entrenched in its operating philosophy. Jonas, and the rest of the Goecco Outdoor Adventures team, are passionate about going beyond simply a rafting trip or corporate retreat, but of delivering truly memorable experiences.
This year, after much success with Haunted Walk Reykjavik and the Amazing Race Reykjavik corporate program, Goecco Outdoor Adventures will be offering the new Amazing Race Reykjavik for visitors, including families and children, looking for a fun and unique activity.
Fashioned like the popular television series, the three-hour race that takes visitors throughout the city, will run from April1 through September 15.
Goecco Outdoor Adventures is a multi-faceted, knowledge-based outdoor experience provider that empowers people, through shared experiences of learning, discovery and laughter, to stretch boundaries, challenge assumptions and think differently.
